A Little Indian

This week they are working on the letters I and E in class. His teacher says he's doing well. We still struggle a bit with making good choices....like not turning off the lights in the bathroom to be funny. 

I had extra salt dough from a school project. I thought it would be fun to let Jacob play with it. Not so much. A huge mess was made, but he had fun.

We ventured back to our favorite place to feed the fish. Jacob figured out that if he puts his fingers in the water the baby fish come and nibble his fingers. We even saw the monster catfish. 

Kindergarten

We are back in Blog business. They have finally catered to my laziness and created an app! First day of Kindergarten was a success.

Gymnastics, and swimming, and snakes! Oh, my!

Jacob is one busy boy. The two of us are having a great summer. It is going by too quickly and I've loved spending time with Jacob and seeing how much he's growing and learning. I was telling Josh this is probably the best summer yet. We go out on little adventures daily and he's loving his new preschool. The school went bowling the other day. I wish I had a few photos from that one. Jacob said he had fun and now LOVES the school bus.  I'm trying to still do some fun academics as well. We do a couple of letters a week. He has to find the "letter of the day" out of a pile of cards, color it, and then we go on a scavenger hunt inside, and outside, for things that begin with the day's letter. He's doing well.

Summer Is Here!

Summer has officially started. Jacob is excited to have more "stay at home days," as he calls them. We are slowly transitioning out of naps. We're finding if he takes one, it's harder at bedtime. By the end of the evening he can have his moments, but overall it makes going down a lot easier. We are sad to see the naps go. A little quiet time in the afternoon is always appreciated.

Jacob had his last soccer game last weekend. He loved his coach, J.J., and got a very nice "report card" from him. We are all very proud of Jacob for working so hard, learning a new sport, and being a good teammate. Each player received a trophy. Jacob decided to give his to Wrigley. What?! It proudly sits between his food and water bowls. Kids do the craziest things. Our plan is to sign him up again in the fall. Next week starts swimming lessons and gymnastics. He's not looking forward to the pool and he doesn't know yet that mommy doesn't get in with him.. We'll see how it goes Monday morning.

Jake also started Brownsburg Baptist on Tuesday. Jacob says he likes it and really enjoys using his lunchbox to take his lunch. He took his very first bus ride to the zoo. Jacob really wasn't sure about it, but he LOVED it. I think we're all really going to like his new school. Next week he goes on two field trips as well.

Memorial Day weekend was great. Mom, Dad, and I went to Carb Day and then off to the races we went on Sunday with Katie and Trever. The kids, of course, had a blast playing together all weekend. Below are few photos from the past couple of weeks.

It's Been Awhile

Hello All,
   It's only been forever since I've posted. A lot has changed, and then again a lot hasn't changed. Jacob is growing like a weed and says some of the craziest things. He's doing well at "school" and will be transferring to a preschool in the summer. Brownsburg Baptist follows a stricter discipline and academic program. Little man needs both of these.
    As you all know, he started soccer four weeks ago. We weren't sure how it would go seeing as Jacob isn't always the most aggressive. He is very athletic, but has never been in an organized sport before. He proved he can kick the snot out of that ball. We all couldn't be prouder. Jacob has three more games and we can't wait to see how they go. Go Cougars!!
   School ends for me on May 18. It's hard to believe. We have adopted the balanced schedule. I report back the end of the July and the kids come August 2. It will make for a short summer, but the two week breaks will be nice.
    Racing season is in full force and the Welch clan is busy. They've been traveling to different places and they are all having fun. I will try to be better about posting. Time, and life, just got away from us.

Sesame Street

What a great weekend. We spent it in Chicago with the Trame and Ryan clan. We celebrated Mother's Day, Anieta's Birthday and went to see Sesame Street Live. The kids and adults loved it all. The looks on the kids' faces were priceless. Below are a few pictures.
