Homecoming and More

Each year Eagle decorates a float, or truck, and we walk in the parade. The kids can join in on the fun as well. 

He has taken up the art of cup stacking to pass the time before school starts.

The boys had their own tailgate for the Monday night football game. Jacob set it all up himself. 

The boys were able to go out on the varsity field and meet some of the players. They then went into the locker room for a tour. 

Jacob's football season came to an end this weekend and we have one more weekend of fall ball left. I believe we'll have a few weeks off before basketball begins. A busy boy is a happy boy. 

Slacking

I've been slacking on my posts lately. Life has taken over it seems. Jacob is doing great at school. He has all A's and is loving it. My class is a much easier bunch this year, which makes it more enjoyable. A few highlights from the past month.

Swimming at Ray's pool and finding a frog in the pool.

Both boys took their first train ride. We went to Champaign and had lunch with Nana & Bumpa.

We had to visit the snack car.

He even got his own "ticket."

Nana was there to greet us. 

A New Year Begins

First grade has started and so has football. So far, Jacob is liking both. He is still a little timid to tackle, but much improved from last year.

For the Love of the Game

Jacob and his dad have been practicing hitting, pitching, and catching. The boy can play some pretty good ball.

After some practice, we headed over to Town Hall for a Lucas Oil Racing event.

My Helper

One thing Jacob loves to do is help with projects. Sometimes he wants to help a little too much, but I would rather it be this way than the other.

We painted two bathrooms and the master bedroom. Jacob was in charge of taking the plates off. 

He then helped me build a bookcase for my classroom & organize the chairs.

All that work deserves a pizza lunch. This boy can eat some pizza!!

A play date with the cousins. 

Trot got a new pet Turtle, Sheldon. He is pretty cute. 

Football is back in full swing. Jacob has been the quarterback most practices. We'll see what the season holds. 

Birthdays and Father's Day - Part II

We had a fun weekend in Chicago with the family. Jacob has been playing air hockey like it's his job.

A Boy in Love

Jacob is in love with his 4 wheeler. I think he rode it for almost a solid hour before stopping. That was of course after we went over the list of about 50 rules....parents are no fun!!!!

Butterflies, Basketball, & Birthday

What more can a boy ask for? Our butterflies came out & we released all of them. Jacob noticed a butterfly in a parking lot today and said, "That could be one of mine!" 

Nana and Bumpa made a huge purchase  and it made Jacob one happy boy. Bumpa and Jacob had many hours of bonding time while putting it together. 

Let the fun begin. 

Jacob had his party at an indoor trampoline place. The kids all had a great time & I had nothing to clean up afterwards!!!

You know your child is growing up when he gets a 4 wheeler. He is over the top excited.
